What We Do Our duty is to keep your yard Dooty-free! Once or twice a week, according to your needs, we service your yard you by picking up and completely removing dog waste from your yard. Why can’t I just leave my dog’s poop on the ground? Isn’t it good fertilizer? Actually, dog waste is incredibly hazardous. Unlike horse and cow manure, dog (and cat) waste is protein based, which means that it burns/kills vegetation. The bacteria found in dog waste can live for months in the soil, contaminating our water supply and posing a threat to children who play in our yards and parks. What is cross contamination free? When a yard is completed, we disinfect our boots and tools. You can rest assured we are doing all we can to prevent the spread of dog diseases. Will you let me know if you see anything suspicious in my dog’s poop? Here at Pet Dooty we love our pets just as much as you do! And we know that our pet’s bowel movements are an incredibly important health sign. Therefore, if we happen to notice anything suspicious or dangerous in your pet’s waste, we will notify you as soon as possible. Of course we are not trained or licensed veterinarians, so we can’t make any guarantees that we will be able to recognize the signs of a potentially serious condition. What do you do with my pet’s waste? After we have cleaned up after your dog or cat, we double-bag the waste and dispose of it in your outside trash receptacle. Why don’t you take my pet’s waste away with you? The value we bring to you is to perform the undesirable chore of cleaning up your pet’s waste for you. You are already paying to have your household waste (including pet waste) removed when you pay your taxes. It is unnecessary for us to perform that same service for just one specific type of household waste. If we were to haul away your pet’s waste our costs would be higher, which would ultimately be reflected in our prices. We believe it is more efficient to take advantage of the waste removal system already in place (which you are already paying for). In fact, we’re using less gas by not hauling away your pet’s waste, which we believe is more ecologically responsible. I prefer to have my pet’s waste hauled away instead of disposed of in our outside trash receptacle. Will you do that? Sure, we can accommodate that request. However, we will add a $5 fee for each visit we make where we haul away your pet’s waste. For one time or initial cleanings, please call for pricing for this service.   What about winter? We work through the winter. Dogs keep doing their dooty and we keep doing our duty. What about snow or rain? We’ll work in most weather, but heavy snow, rain, and severe storms will cause us to postpone our work that day. We intend to make up the work later that week. If a prolonged weather problem keeps us from working the whole week, we will not charge for those missed days. What about holidays? Yes, we are closed on Independence Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. When your regular service day falls on a holiday, we will make every effort to accommodate you by cleaning your yard either before or after the holiday. You will receive notification of the cleaning date change prior to the holiday. The following week your service will resume to its regular day. What if my gate is locked? If your gate is locked, and no arrangements have been made to access your yard, then our technician will not be able to clean your yard. Our technicians will never climb or jump fences, or pick a lock. However, we understand your desire to keep your property secure. We have a number of options available that will allow you to keep your yard locked, and at the same time allow our technicians to access and clean your yard. If no such arrangement has been made, and our technician is locked out of your yard, our technician will leave you a notice that they were there but unable to clean because they were locked out. In this event you will be charged for the service because our technician will have twice the amount of pet waste to clean up on their next visit. Can you clean with my dog in the yard? If your dog is friendly, we would love to have his or her company while we work. However if your dog does not enjoy our company, and our technician believes their safety is at risk, then we will not be able to clean your yard unless your dog is restrained or confined. What about skipping a service day? If the dog will be gone from the yard for a couple of weeks or more, please call. We can hold service and you will not be charged for those days. If, however, a hold results in an accumulation of waste, a "restart fee" may be assessed. (i.e.: A hold during the winter even though the dog is still using the yard, would cause a build up of waste. An extra fee for the first return visit would be assessed based on the extra time required to clean the yard.) Will my service days be the same every week? As a general rule, your service will be performed on the same day(s) each week at around the same time. However, from time to time events occur that are out of our control which will prevent us from performing your service at the normal time or date. If this occurs, we will make every attempt to notify you as soon as possible and to re-schedule, if necessary. Can I choose my service day and time? We will do our best to accommodate any request. However, the cost for a customized service schedule will be higher. The more narrow the service window, the greater the cost. The reason for this is that we clean many different yards every day; therefore we make our service routes as efficient as possible to keep our prices low. If you request a customized service schedule for a day we are not in your area, it will require considerable drive time to get to and from your property. What about payments? We accept cash, checks, Mastercard, Visa and Discover. Checks are made payable to The Pawfessionals. You can now pay your invoice online by clicking here. How will I know if Pet Dooty has cleaned my yard? We’re hoping the poop-free yard will give it away! However, we always leave a notice on your door to let you know what time we were there and who serviced your yard. Do have to sign a contract? Absolutely not! We believe that the only way to get your business is to earn it! We strive to provide you with the very best service possible. If you are not 100% satisfied, you can cancel your service at any time. If you have prepaid any service charges, they will be prorated and refunded to you promptly. Can I cancel at any time? Absolutely. Only make sure that you leave 24 hours before your next service date, or we will have to charge you for that last service. Once you cancel your service, we will pro rate any pre-payments and promptly send you any refund. What is the process for starting service?  What do I have to do? We would be very happy to gain your business. Just give us a call and we’ll do the rest! We will set up a time to come to your home for an initial visit that is convenient for We come to your home for a number of reasons. First, we believe that it is very important for us to meet your pet(s). They will be much less apprehensive when we show up to clean their yard if they already know us. Second, we know it is important for you to know who is going to be coming into your yard and making contact with your pet(s). At this initial visit, we will perform the initial cleaning. Once we have finished, and only if you are completely satisfied, will you pay us for the initial cleaning and the first month’s service. If I’m paying $10.50 per week, then why does my invoice read $45.50 before tax is added? We average the weekly cost over the entire year so the monthly invoice amount is always the same regardless of how many times we scoop during the month. What areas do you service?
